私は湿った森の中を私は歩いていく。先程までは飛んでいたが、目的地が近くなったので歩くことにした。私が、永遠亭から遠い魔法の森まで来ているのにはもちろん理由があった。
皆には内緒にしているつもりだが、私は霧雨魔理沙に好感を持っていた。でも、そのことを本人に言うつもりは無い。では、私に何か役に立てることはないか。と考えた結果がこれだ。彼女の家まで行き、傷の手当などをする。魔理沙は実験とかでよく怪我をするくせに、ちゃんと手当をしないのだ（このことはお師匠様から聞いた）。なので、最近は里に薬を売った後、魔理沙の家に寄るようになった。行くたびに嫌そうな顔をするが、追い払ったりはしない。彼女も嬉しいんだろう。
この行動は、私の独断でやっているのだが、おそらく、てか絶対、お師匠様にはバレている。でも、深くは聞いてこなかった。
そんなこんなで私は魔理沙の家に到着し、扉を叩く。
「……」
返事はない。いつものことなので、勝手に家の中に入る。研究の後なのか、魔理沙は机に突っ伏して寝ていた。起こすのも悪いので、起きるまで待つことにした。
ー綺麗だなー
ふと、そんなことを思った。はちみつ色のふわふわとした髪。白い肌に、細い体。傍から見ればただの人間の少女なのに、中身は全然違う。なぜ、魔法に染まったんだろう。彼女は道具屋の娘だったはずだ。そのままでも充分な人生を歩んで行けただろう。私は魔理沙のことをじっと見つめる。
ー欲しいなー
本当は彼女を自分のものにしたい。監禁して自分しか見えなくしたい。でも、そんなこと魔理沙が望んでいないのはわかっているからそんなことはしない。もし、やってしまえば、それこそ誰も望まない結果になってしまうだろう。
だから、私はこの気持ちを抑えるのだ。欲しいという気持ちを、手に入れたいと思う気持ちを…。
この関係を壊さないように…。
あぁ、私は、あの光り輝く星を手に入れたい。
